Important - Safety Equipment
The committee are aware that as we now have 2 touring aircraft, the situation could arise where both aircraft may be booked to go cross channel on the same day.
If this rare situation does occur then it will be the responsibility of the pilot who makes the second booking to provide life jackets and life raft suitable for himself and his passengers.
The committee will monitor this situation as currently the demand does not warrant the considerable expense of the purchase and annual maintenance of a second life raft and life jackets. Prize Winner gets a Free Lesson!
Being involved with the local community, Alouette was pleased to sponsor a Trial Flight as a prize at
the annual Downe Primary School Fete. Biggin Hill Airport airport kindly donated the landing fee.
The lucky winner was Mrs Simone George who came to Alouette recently to
claim her prize and experience a flight in our Cessna over the Kent countryside. Suitably exited with
her prize, Simone had to be calmed down by her daughter Tia.
I played "Captain" for the day and posed for a picture with Tia before the lesson
started. Then off over Sevenoaks. Simone was delighted with the views
and immediately became comfortable with the sensation of flight in our
aircraft.
All too soon, we were back at
the clubhouse. Simone was flushed with pride and marveling at the last
hour's experience; Tia of course thought Mum was a super hero yet was glad
she was back safe on the ground.
Simone says she will put an article in the school's news sheet and send
us a copy. Meanwhile we wait to see if she returns to start training!
